Peintre depuis plus de trente-cinq ans et anciennement professeure \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole des Beaux-Arts Saidye Bronfman, l\u2019artiste occupe son studio du quartier Saint-Henri depuis 1989.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Pr\u00e9server le moment, cr\u00e9er un souvenir mais sans nostalgie, sans ce d\u00e9sir de retour m\u00e9lancolique \u00e0 une \u00e9poque pass\u00e9e de la vie de quelqu\u2019un, cette sentimentale aspiration \u00e0 un bonheur perdu. En peignant ces images, je recr\u00e9e ou je retourne \u00e0 ce bonheur d\u2019un certain espace-temps, exprimant mon appr\u00e9ciation de la beaut\u00e9 du monde que l\u2019on trouve dans les choses les plus simples. Je montre ainsi ce que je vois et comment je le vois : une fleur, un visage, une branche, un poisson dans l\u2019eau.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Alors qu\u2019une partie de son travail incorpore la gouache, le pastel et le b\u00e2ton \u00e0 l\u2019huile, la plupart des images sont cr\u00e9\u00e9es en utilisant la technique classique de superposition de glacis \u00e0 l\u2019huile sur un fond de peinture \u00e0 l\u2019huile pour produire les couleurs \u00e9clatantes de ses surfaces peintes.
